Afterhours Dispatcher

Builders Transportation Company, has an immediate opening for an Afterhours Dispatcher. The individual we are looking for must have excellent customer service and communication skills, providing and maintaining professional service to our customers, co-workers, and our drivers.

Essential Duties:

* Maintain compliance with all DOT company policies and procedures
* Communicate with Drivers to determine pick-up and arrival times for deliveries.
* Sustain active real-time communication between all departments within the company.
* Ensure all load information and or changes are communicated accurately and quickly to customer service representatives.
* Track and trace all company freight.
* Troubleshoot with breakdowns and layovers
* Advise in the routing of drivers due to various events; inclement weather or alternate routes.


* High school diploma or equivalent
* 2 years of dispatcher experience in transportation and logistics
* Knowledge of FMSCA HOS (Hours of Service)
* Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
* Knowledge of Mcleod software system.
* Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
* Must be detail and process oriented.
* Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, routines and standard accepted practices.
* Notifies Operations Managers / Safety immediately of any discrepancies or safety related events that may be an infraction of DOT regulations and/or company policy and procedures.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
